2 Timothy 2:22-26
In this chapter, Paul is calling Timothy into
maturity, specially on speech. In the previous chapter he told him to hold strong
to the words he has learn from him, but now Paul is asking him to share it with
others. I believe youthful lusts are those that can drive someone away from
their calling or tasks. As youth (not merely on age but also on maturity of
Christlikeness) can be selfish, prideful, rebellious and impatient. Were we can
be growing with everyone else who calls unto the Lord; we continue thinking
that old habits or friends can be in our lives, we are wrong. People in the
world must be our ministry and not our fellowship. There is more people in this
same battle, and together we can strive for righteousness, faith, charity, and peace.
It is easier when you can help each other out, we are a body and each member of
it should be doing find otherwise the body aches. Here is where maturity comes,
and we can learn to strive for ourselves to be found approved by our Lord.
Having that time in the word and dwelling in His presence will allow us to have
the knowledge of the word. If we apply it in our daily basis, then we can be an
example unto others as Paul is for Timothy. False teaching and profane or
superficial words just lead people into ungodliness. If we know the calling
where we are standing and the people who is around, His passion and love in us
will move us to be a person who will strive to be found without sin and with
the right word to bless others.
Application:
Share with someone what God has taught during
this week.
