Luke 9:20


Jesus came so that we can have a personal relationship with our God father. It is easy to like the idea of who Jesus and God is and not actually want to know Him intimately. We can want what He gives and provides but not Himself. The disciples were asking everybody else about who they thought Jesus was, how often I focus on others’ relationships with the Lord and want to have what they are walking on or going through. Jesus asks them a personal question, it is important that everyone else’s faith is in Jesus and we are called to share the gospel to all the world but if our own faith is wrong then what we share is also wrong. It is my desire but uttermost His that we may know Him truly and completely. For me this season I have been walking with the Lord, but I feel that I have sought the actions and ways to Him, not Him first. I have been praying, reading His word and sharing what He is doing in me with others, but right now I am in sort way of stuck. I have denied His calling to just come boldly to His presence and give Him my tiredness and burdens. I want to be with Him but I don’t want it to be as a task or burden. In His presence, I need to ask for a fresh desire to know Him more daily.

What another demonstration of love to our neighbors or to people than to be emphatic with their lives and share with them the gospel? Knowing that God called me to be a disciple and to share the gospel to people has opened my eyes. His calling qualifies me, even though I feel like I am not ready or don’t have enough love for others, I have stopped trying and just letting Him work in me and through me.  Being honest, it is hard for me to be open to all people I face or get to know, but it is even harder when it is people that I know or are my friends. I believe this happens because of my lack of faith in Him. Now that I am in a real relationship with Him, my love and passion has been growing. My heart opens more and more every new time we get to do outreaches or share the gospel.  I can’t love people with my heart, but I can love them with His love. In my strength is hard to lay down and try to talk to everyone, but His faithfulness and passion for them is what makes me move. N

Luke 3:14

Just like the soldiers, several times I have asked myself if what I am doing is right, if I am pouring all the effort I can. It is easy in school because they give grades and report cards, in some way they help to draw conclusions. Every day in real life’s scenario is a test; were attitude, thoughts, and decisions will build the outcome.  Sometimes we are drawn by earthly things or ambitions, we keep on asking: “what is the new trend?”, “what is the best car in the market now?”, etc. But how many times do we ask questions to improve ourselves? Ask where our heart is or in what are we pouring our hearts to. What John answers to the soldiers relates perfect with what Jesus told us to do: love my neighbor as I do for myself. We often look ways to earn more by hurting people, because it is easier to take from other person than to work hard for it.  Soldiers are used to receive commands and rules, they are good at obeying and following. Philippians 3:8

All my life, before three months ago, I gave earthly things more value than God. It was based on my dreams and desires, without wanting His will in it. Looking to have God for my own purposes, instead of me living for Him. Living for my own sake took me to several failures and disappointments, for finally surrendering myself to Jesus. His love showed me that I had purpose and meaning in this earth, but it is only going to happen in His hands and ways, not in mine.  I never had the habit of reading His word, and now reading it; has opened my eyes and been light to my path. Now I know who He really is, and this makes me want to know Him more and have a closer relationship. The scriptures confront my acts and thoughts, making me surrender my life every day. Before it was a burden to do that, now is a desire to give up myself for Him because I want to please Him and because I can’t in my own strength.  His fire ignites my heart in a way that what I used to give importance, it has
