1 Peter 5: 5-7

As a youth in age and maturity, there are elders that I can look after and submit to them. I can approve myself in this matter. There is leadership that I haven’t taken advantage from, where I could have asked for counsel or advise. For this time that is meant for being in “action”, there will be several winnings and failings; most of failures can be missed by the correction beforehand from a leader. God uses them to bless my life with guidance and knowledge, but if I am full of pride or shyness I will never be able to have that Paul-Timothy relationship. It takes humbleness to open the self and share to someone, whereas if I am proud thinking that I don’t need anyone my walk and progress will soon fall off the roof. A disciple is someone who is around the leader and has an attitude of willingness to give the extra mile of waiting and asking. He won’t be content with the simple and superficial, he wants to go further. For my walk during this time, I believe that is something that I am failing in. My growth in Christ would look different if I am open to elder’s opinion and word, for they have been set in this period of time by God to bless and oversee my life. I need to be open to hear God’s voice and accept His will in guiding my days. His hand is mighty and there is nothing He can’t fix in me, it just needs my trust and patience. He is in control and He can’t take any anxiety for there is nothing too hard for Him. A better chance also is that leaders have passed through that trial also and can help me out.

What another demonstration of love to our neighbors or to people than to be emphatic with their lives and share with them the gospel? Knowing that God called me to be a disciple and to share the gospel to people has opened my eyes. His calling qualifies me, even though I feel like I am not ready or don’t have enough love for others, I have stopped trying and just letting Him work in me and through me.  Being honest, it is hard for me to be open to all people I face or get to know, but it is even harder when it is people that I know or are my friends. I believe this happens because of my lack of faith in Him. Now that I am in a real relationship with Him, my love and passion has been growing. My heart opens more and more every new time we get to do outreaches or share the gospel.  I can’t love people with my heart, but I can love them with His love. In my strength is hard to lay down and try to talk to everyone, but His faithfulness and passion for them is what makes me move. N

Luke 3:14

Just like the soldiers, several times I have asked myself if what I am doing is right, if I am pouring all the effort I can. It is easy in school because they give grades and report cards, in some way they help to draw conclusions. Every day in real life’s scenario is a test; were attitude, thoughts, and decisions will build the outcome.  Sometimes we are drawn by earthly things or ambitions, we keep on asking: “what is the new trend?”, “what is the best car in the market now?”, etc. But how many times do we ask questions to improve ourselves? Ask where our heart is or in what are we pouring our hearts to. What John answers to the soldiers relates perfect with what Jesus told us to do: love my neighbor as I do for myself. We often look ways to earn more by hurting people, because it is easier to take from other person than to work hard for it.  Soldiers are used to receive commands and rules, they are good at obeying and following. Philippians 3:8

All my life, before three months ago, I gave earthly things more value than God. It was based on my dreams and desires, without wanting His will in it. Looking to have God for my own purposes, instead of me living for Him. Living for my own sake took me to several failures and disappointments, for finally surrendering myself to Jesus. His love showed me that I had purpose and meaning in this earth, but it is only going to happen in His hands and ways, not in mine.  I never had the habit of reading His word, and now reading it; has opened my eyes and been light to my path. Now I know who He really is, and this makes me want to know Him more and have a closer relationship. The scriptures confront my acts and thoughts, making me surrender my life every day.
